1. Do I need planning permission to install air conditioning?
   In most cases you dont need planning permission because AC units fall under permitteddevelopment. You may need permission if your property is listed, in a conservation area,close to a neighbour’s boundary, or requires a large outdoor unit. We can advise you on this if necessary.
2. Is the installation disruptive and will I need to redecorate?
   For most installations, there is very minimal disruption. We will drill a small hole for pipework and to mount indoor and outdoor units, this won't be seen internally. Any mess created is also very limited and will just be light dust.
3. What size unit will I need?
   Sizing depends on many factors such as room size, insulation, windows, and usage. During our visit, we will calculate the required BTUs/kW for you and advise on the correct system for your property.
4. How efficient are modern air conditioning systems?
   Modern AC systems use inverter technology making them very efficient. Most units are A+++ rated and cost roughly 6-15p per hour to run, depending on capacity and your energy tariffs.
5. Can air conditioning heat my home as well?
   Yes, most air conditioning units are actually heat pumps offering:
   - Cooling in summer
   - Heating in winter
   They are often cheaper to run than older gas or electric systems.
6. Can air conditioning help with allergies?
   Yes, air conditioning units filter the air and remove dust, pollen, pet dander and some bacteria so are great for allergy sufferers.
